HISTORY

Chemical Industry "Župa" was founded in 1934 by several local industrialists. The original production program consisted exclusively of copper sulfate and sulphuric acid, with lower rates of iron sulfate production.

Since 1956, HI "Župa" has been operating as an independent company. At that time, the production of xanthates began, followed by the production of mixed fertilizers, pesticides, and mastering of polymerization chemistry. The ability to adapt to changes in the market was shown in the 1970s when sulphuric acid production was closed and new technology and modernization was approached.

Since 1975, potassium chemistry plant has been operating, which has provided an extraordinary opportunity to conquer a new market. Dynamic development in the coming years is reflected in the construction of an emulsion and herbicides plant.

The products by which HI "Župa" was recognizable in the country and wider were pesticides, foliar and mineral fertilizers, veterinary products, flotation products, basic chemistry products, water treatment products, construction program.

The main activities of the company included the following:

• Production of sulfates: inorganic salts, premixes for feed
• Production of plant protection products: fungicides, insecticides and herbicides
• Flotation: reagents for non-ferrous metal ores
• Production of potassium chemistry: electrolytic products based on potassium chloride

In the past years, the key products of HI "Župa" included pesticides, foliar and mineral fertilizers, veterinary products, flotation products, basic chemistry products, water treatment agents.

Trademarks by which "Zupa" is recognizable include "Sistemin", "Blauvit", "Plavi kamen", "Župamiks", "Kangurit".

In July 2015, bankruptcy proceedings were initiated against "Župa".

On 14/12/2016 EUCOM doo purchased "Župa" chemical industry.
